Potential buyers should be aware that this computer is no longer available at Dell’s website. Called Dell to see if it is being discontinued but unable to get an answer. I was considering buying but will hold off until I get an answer about discontinue issue.

The Adamo XPS is incredible. I have had dozens of laptops, but none compare to this. For the first time in laptop history, conventional residency of keyboard, and screen have been changed. After swiping your finger by the side of the magical electrostatic strip on the cover the case opens to reveal a full size metal keyboard and an incredible screen. The computer it so thin it makes an Apple McBook Air look stout. It is about as thin as a Bic pen. Less than ½” thick, but very sturdy. All metal construction gives this laptop a feel of quality and durability you just don’t see in plastic notebooks. The speakers are placed on the underside which is raised when the notebook is opened, and provide exceptional sound. Performance is enhanced by a solid state drive and a reasonable processer, you should have no problem with any computing tasks except games and heavily graphics intensive programs. With the extended array you can expect over 5 hours, and you can hot swap batteries. Facial recognition software and the webcam work collectively to secure your computer. The cool factor is off the charts – this is the hottest notebook available anywhere in the world today.

At 1.6 pounds, Dell has made a key for those of us who want solid state drives, and yet still have the thin simple light windows key in a very slick package. From the slide electronic case lock, to the elevated keyboard on opening Dell has solved one of my nightmares in laptops for travel. I just left an IBM reckon Pad, tablet for this Dell and am I glad I did!
If eye catching is part of the reason you look for a laptop, this one does it! If a small light package lacking lots of connectors and CD/DVD drive is okay with you, then this is the way to go!

Bought this notebook from the Microsoft Store in Scottsdale, AZ and was very pleased with the setup and initial performance. Didn’t have success, tho, with an external USB DVD player bought with it. Finished up ordering a (pricey!) DVD/Blu-Ray player for the Adamo preside over from Dell and it facility fantastic…just one USB port required. Also bought an extended life array owing to Dell….which brings me to the one huge complaint I have with this machine. So I now have two batteries to use with this notebook, but it is NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to swap the array out. Seems simple…there’s a typical slider on the bottom to supposedly release the array, but it won’t come out… I see that the point of the case is such that the array doesn’t slide off towards the back of the machine, but needs to pop outward, but I still can’t get it. I finished up handing it to my son and questioned him to give it a try….he was FINALLY successful, but I have no thought how. The larger array is now installed, but it won’t seem to budge when trying to remove. I have found several references on the ‘net that the array is “hard to remove” on this system, but nobody offers any helpful hints as to HOW to remove the darn array.
Does anyone that has one of these Adamo XPS machines have any advice or small trick on how to get the array changed? Supposedly one of the facial appearance is that you can hot-swap the array while it’s in sleep mode and not miss a beat — as long as you do it within 90 seconds. If it takes 10 minutes to struggle with the array to get it removed, I guess that feature isn’t worth much.
Again…like the system, but can anyone help with the array removal issue?

Dell Adamo XPS. I have not bought one yet, still gathering information. I like the concept but wonder why Dell stopped offering them. I spoke with Dell via. chat and they stated “their life had finished, no further information available and Dell will not back a computer bought from a third party”. I have yet to find out what Amazon has to say.
