“We’re Building Earth’s Most Customer-Centric Company” never go with the words they may deceive. Working as a modify research assistant in the university of Minnesota I was very much in-need of a computer. I ordered lenovo G550 on 19th of Feb after looking full product description which used to include that it is built with Intel core 2 duo processor. I got the computer with Intel Pentium processor, I thought It happens and thought to replace. I returned explaining all the details to the customer care service and requested for replacement. I was getting small of laptop for every thing my study, my research as a modify student. It got into my nerves when they send me the same laptop for the second time. gallingly they are not ready to accept their mistake and with their articulated words they started to linger. I contacted nearly dozen time and with half a dozen of people everyone asking for 3-4 business day after each 3-4 business day. I returned back the second laptop also. As a student, I don’t have enough to buy another laptop and they are asking for 28 days to return my cash back. This affected my study of whole month. I will never forget this most terrible experience.

I will return this laptop ASAP. While the specs look very compelling, the plastic case is so flimsy that the body flexes in your hand, and carrying it from room to room made the DVD drive pop open in seconds. What a pain to get such crappy quality from a company well known for better products…. The lid does not latch shut, either. I reckon this laptop will get ruined traveling ina briefcase, owing to airports, etc.

I ignored these reviews after checking with customer service.
But…
1) CPU is not Core 2 Duo. Its Dual Core.
2) OS is Windows XP (which i don’t mind), but i don’t see Windows 7 installed.
It did come with Windows 7 Recovery CD though.
3) The laptop material is not fragile though. Body seems ok.
4) Before buying the laptop, i had confirmed with customer service on CPU and OS. But they refused to place the confirmation on their ticket (so, now i can’t hold on what they had confirmed to me before)
**** Customer Service really needs to improve in informing/understanding laptop specs. ****
Real waste of time on this one.

Very disappointed with the configuration of the laptop that I got. On the site configuration says Windows 7 with 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo but it came with Win Xp and processor Pentium Dual-Core. The body is all cheap plastic.

I’m just a casual user, so I sought after a cheap laptop that facility quicker than the one I bought 5 years ago. For under $500, I got a laptop that facility and facility pretty well.
Pros –
Has a number pad if you need to input data.
Shiny!
Windows 7 instead of Vista.
More RAM and hard drive space than my older computers combined.
~4 hours of array life.
3 USB ports
Cons -
Shiny, but screen can reflect a small too much sometimes so it’s hard to see at particular angles.
Keyboard has a tendency to double letters or drop letters sometimes. Never had this problem on my ancient laptop (Dell Inspiron 6000), and I just checked to make sure I have the newest drivers.
Mouse pad can be unresponsive sometimes, which annoys me to no end. Also not a problem I had on the ancient laptop.
Facial recognition program tells me to take my glasses off before I use it. How stupid does that sound to someone who is blind as a bat and NEEDS those glasses? (Only a minor con as I don’t really care about the security. My friend has a laptop with a fingerprint scanner, which is more fun, but infinitely stupid unless you wear gloves when you handle your computer.)
