I bought my Toshiba in August of 2009. It is really an A505-S6966. Everything was fine until a coouple of days ago when I turned it on and nothing but vertical lines appeared on the screen. I went to their website and called the number they gave to find out that it might cost between $175-$425 to fix the LCD screen problem that I apparently have. I refused to give them a credit card number and will have to call back to get in touch with a case worker during ‘normal business hours’.
I find it sad that Toshiba will not stand in the rear it’s product. As anyone can imagine,I am very dissapointed with Toshiba. I own two of their laptops but will not buy a 3rd.

I just bought this laptop to replace my Dell which stopped working after 2.5 years. This laptop has GREAT facial appearance, very solid build, and is extremely quick. I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend this laptop to anyone. The sound is exceptional and I especially like the LED backlit keyboard! Toshiba has exceptional reliability reviews and this is an all around fantastic product. I opted for the AMD processor vs the slower Intel with the BlueRay player. I have a PS3 with BlueRay and I really don’t see myself needing a BlueRay player on my laptop. I would recommend a Square Guard warranty just for added protection. I bought the 3 year warranty for only $100.00! WHY WOULDN”T YOU GET THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY FOR ONLY $100????

The laptop is fine. The screen is bright and right with excellent definition. The keyboard is full sized and adequate. There are plenty of USB connections and the wireless facility well and has fantastic range. I did not like the mouse pad scrolling feature and had to turn it off. The webcam is slow and barely usable but it was advertised as a 1.3 mp camera so you get what you pay for. So far I’m very satisfied with the computer as it has lived up to what I expected for the cash paid (<$750.00).

Just picked this up at Best Buy for $679 and got to say my only complaint is that the keyboard is a small too loud and the touch-pad is deafening, but an simple feature on the bottom of the keyboard can disable the touch-pad with a click of a button. No hunting around windows 7 to try and figure out. The webcam is so so, but I never use it so i don’t care.
It runs quietly, the i3 processor speed you will notice upon the first boot up and all in all after three days I am very pleased with it.
The array life is exceptional as well and I agree with the other 4 reviews. It is a fantastic computer at now even a better price.
And no warranty for me sir. Largest waste of cash ever to spend anything on an asset that depreciates as quick as a laptop.
4 1/2 stars.
Of course right after my price protection finished this laptop is now on sale for 599. You can’t beat that price anywhere for what this computer does.
